Sweet Paul Fall

Excitement, friends, excitement! Now THIS really gets my Fall engines revving! The Fall 2011 issue of Sweet Paul is out. Sweet Paul, if you are new to this gem of an online publication, is packed to the brim with the most beautiful food styling you will ever see, the loveliest of seasonal recipes, the most interesting crafts and the most generally unique foodie fun you’re going to come across anywhere.

When I see images like the ones below, I’m ready to kick summer out the door and pat it on the shoulder and say, Sorry pal, but my much cooler friend has just come round to play.

(But that wouldn’t be kind. I love you summer. Please don’t leave. It’s just that Fall is SO MUCH FUN. Let’s have an Indian Summer! Best of both worlds.)

Spiced popcorn? Sign me up. Ditto the Double Chocolate Cake. There’s a pear soup that I’m going to try at the first opportunity.

And there’s all this Fun for Kiddo stuff as well!

This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg, what I’ve shown you here. You need to head over to check out the new issue straightaway, because there is SO MUCH COOL STUFF it is going to blow your mind.

  6. My birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I was planning to make a chocolate cake anyway, sooooooo... perhaps I'll give that recipe a whirl!

Roald Dahl Day - how have I never heard of this??? I looove his books. My mom read most of them to us when we were growing up. One of my favorites, which recounts parts of his childhood is "Boy: Tales of Childhood". Have you read it? You can really see how his own childhood experiences shaped the stories he wrote later in life.

  7. I had never heard of this either Michelle! I saw it over on Natasha's blog, Children's Books for Grownups -- I think it must be a bigger UK thing than it is here! I haven't read that book you mentioned, it sounds like it should go on the Must Read List :) ~M
