Let’s Go Fly a Kite

“Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!”  -- from ‘Mary Poppins’ (Julia’s favorite film)

We were super lucky to have won this glorious kite and this book that was given away on Pen Pal & Picture Books! Over the weekend we had perfect weather and a golden opportunity to try it out. What a simple joy, just to see something colorful and fluttery fly around in the sky.

Did you all have a marvelous weekend? And are you feeling READY FOR SUMMER?

(Danzel and Colleen! You guys won our Playful Moon giveaway! Email me! -- and for those who are interested in ordering the book, it is available here on Amazon.)

  1. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! :) We started packing for our impending move (to another part of town) and I've been fretting over where to send my sweetie to school next year. Why does everybody want all-day kindergarten? I'm not ready!!!!

    1. I was totally on the fence about all day K -- at one point I was straight up NO, not doing it, it's the last yr we even have a choice and I'm choosing to keep my baby with ME -- but....we actually changed our minds and sent her to all day, which was the right choice for her -- she loved every minute of it :)

    2. That's exactly how I've been feeling... It's so hard to think about sending her away all day whenshe's just five years old. But I'm faced with three choices: the public school around the corner from our new home is all day K, the local Catholic school is all day K (we're Catholic so religious ed. is very important), or try to get an inter-district transfer to another public school that offers half-day. All three have serious benefits and drawbacks, so there's no easy choice. Aaaaaaargh!

  3. I have mixed emotions about this... So super happy about the kite flying fun and sun!!! Kinda bummed about not winning, darn it. Where do you think I could find it?
Bit hey-- sunshine for you means it's on the way here so that make me very happy -- we've had wet drizzle all weekend, bleck!

  4. What a wonderful kite! All I can ever find anymore are poorly made kites with licensed characters on them. I'm jealous.

Thank you so much for the contest! I just sent you an email. Have a beautiful Memorial Day!
