A Parade!

The 4th of July was a week ago, but I finally got my pictures sorted and here's the Parade of Awesome we attended (and by awesome I mean Julia loved it because candy was thrown and she rode her bike in the children's parade and that's about it for the awesome but I LOVE that she loved it so much!)

Loved this hat.

Loved all the decorated bikes, trikes, wagons and scooters.

Loved this chiuaua shirt.

LOVED the blue sky!

Not sure anyone loved waiting around for the parade to start.

Not my finest self portrait attempt. My hat is very very wrinkly, I've realized. OH MY GOODNESS. SOMEHOW ROSEBUD WOUND UP IN THIS PHOTO WITH ME INSTEAD OF ANDREW. How did that happen?????

Trader Joe's was in our parade??

Basically the parade consisted of ....somewhat decorated cars. Oh and there were some Scottish bagpipers, which blew Julia's mind. (because of her 'Brave' obsession.)

Next year maybe we'll have successfully trained our cats to walk on a leash and the real Sally or Rosebud can be in the parade! (That won't happen.)

  1. If your daughter likes all things scottish, have you seen the Katie Morag books? The audio version are read by the author so you get the accent too. They are really nice books, good for aged three to six/seven. I love them.

    1. Lucy!!! ( love that name ) Thank you!! Just checked those out and they look darling -- I'm going to try and find those for Julia. I think a book like that will make her day.

  2. I love old-fashioned Fourth of July parades! I haven't been to one in years. I love these pictures!

(And the cat almost made me spit out my coffee.)

    1. ha ha ha, Andrew had a great time with that one -- he amused himself for a good half-hour playing around with different angles of Rosebud face positioning :)

And yes the parade is really sweet. It's very charming and old-fashionedy, and Julia just thinks it's the most exciting thing ever!

  6. Me: "My goodness, Miss Rosebud... What BIG eyes you have?"
Rosebud: "The better to see you with my dear."

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. It really was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw that photo! :)
