_DSC0255_DSC0123_DSC0128_DSC0105P1010997_DSC0103_DSC0107_DSC0232P1020318A hodge podge sampler of what we’ve been up to, as summer is reaching its conclusion.

Going through collections of old photos that were hiding in boxes at my mom’s house.

Sofa dancing.

Visits with family and baby cousins. (Love my sis-in-law’s tangerine nails!)

Outdoor picnic dinners.

Sally-boo kitty and me and J. At the beach. (Beaches in the Pac NW sometimes necessitate the wearing of a full outfit of clothes.)

Grilled flatbread mini pizzas. Where has this dose of fab been all of my life?? For some of them, I spread on pesto and then topped with sauteed zucchini, prociutto, and goat cheese. Awesome!! We made Julia’s just regular with tomato sauce and pepperoni.

Fence painting. I thought Julia and her pal would make some kind of scene, or little mural. Nope, they just started PAINTING, like, just back and forth painting. And I thought it was washable because I used washable poster paint. THAT PAINT IS HERE TO STAY MY FRIENDS! Ah well, it looks cheerful.

And....signs of fall. Apple cider!

  1. Mmmmmm, cider...

Love the pictures! Aren't flatbread pizzas awesome? I love making homemade yeast dough in the winter, but really, if it isn't freezing outside, I don't want to heat the house up that much. Flatbread is AWESOME!

My grandmother has been pulling box after box of pictures out lately. I'm waiting for life to slow down a bit, then I must go to her house and go through them.

The fence is a scream. ;o)

    1. I gotta get more of my own pix printed out....

I seriously am in love with the grilled pizza thing. SO easy! And looks much more impressive than the effort that went into it!

looking at the fence right now....very colorful on a grey morning...:)

  2. Those pizzas look dee-lish! You could put goat cheese on just about anything and it would taste good, am I right?

And I loooove the fence! The fact that you thought it would wash off but then it didn't... well, that's something I can see happening to me. LOL

    1. Goat cheese yes! I came to it late in life. Like, my 30's. I hated it before! Now I adore it!

I'm curious to see if fall and winter rain will wash off that fence -- it doesn't seem to be budging...

  6. Yummm grilled pizzas! We have so many tomatoes right now, I might need to pizza it up. And I was gonna just make sauce. Sweet pic of my hand and J's head! I love it! I miss that nail polish. It's my sissy's, an Essie, but I can't remember the colour.

  7. You have cool summer photos! But now you made me hungry! I never had grilled pizza before nor apple cider :( I must remedy to that one day! I am impressed by how cool you are with the kids painting the fence! The obsessive person that I am would have re-painted over in beige or white... but then where would be the fun?

    1. I live in the Land of Apples (the Pac NW) and there's a place about 10 minutes away from my house that makes really amazing fresh pressed cider -- I'll freak out if they ever go out of business!

I was impressed with how easy the pizza grilling was -- we were worried we would burn the pizza.

Oh and as laissez-faire and relaxed about letting my outside go to heck is as anal as I am about tidying up the inside of my house! tidy tidy! which is funny b/c it's really not that tidy. which is maybe why i want to tidy all the time. I need to stop writing tidy now.

  8. I was thinking, oh wow! she let's them paint on the fence! Now, I won't try it on the back side of our neighbor's fence since I know it won't wash off. :)

    1. yeah.....that paint ain't budging! now, there's been very little rain, maybe a few big rainstorms will wash it off a bit more, but it's looking fairly permanent to me! :)

    1. honestly you know what we mostly do around here? A WHOLE LOTTA NOTHING! but I do like photographing little moments. I think the Home Life thing is going to become a regular feature. Have you ever seen Bleubird blog? They do a feature called Bits & Pieces and it's one of my favorite things about their blog. I basically really like to see what's going on in other people's homes.....:)
