COOL STUFF I like, of the fall time variety...
My favorite Autumn book for kids.
I just found out about the Tashi books. They sound AMAZING!! I think Julia is going to looooove these stories.
The coolest Slinkies.
Chocolate Dipped Banana Pops.
DIY Marble Ramp!
I made this recipe and it was awesome. Then I turned it into chili and that was awesome too!
Enchanting Foliage Stamp Set.
I loooove the mix of textiles in this shared kiddo bedroom.
Pumpkin for Breakfast.
Cool Book of the Week: So basically, Gecko Press is a goldmine of beautiful books! Including 'My Village, Rhymes from Around the World' by Danielle Wright and Mique Moriuchi. What's particularly cool, in addition to the amazing art, and the engaging and fun rhymes, is that each page has the rhymes written in English, as well as the native country from which the rhyme hails.

I read nursery rhymes non-stop to Julia when she was a toddler. She would listen to them on my lap in our rocker for a good half hour stretch, whereas with a story, she would often grow restless. I'm a big, big fan of reading rhymes to children!
Have a lovely weekend! Doing anything fall-esque? I want to know!
~Melissa
I think we're going to the Fall Renaissance Fair on Sunday. That's fall-esque, right? ;o)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm keeping an eye out for baking pumpkins, because I am becoming desperate to make pumpkin soup. Speaking of pumpkin, that pumpkin spice smoothie looks amazing. Fletcher and the Falling Leaves looks so sweet. I love nursery rhymes. My girls are well-versed in them. (Well-versed, get it? Grooooan.) That bedroom is gorgeous. I always liked frozen chocolate-covered bananas. Then I found out that our local chocolate shop calls them monkey tails, and you know what? They do look like monkey tails. I don't know if I could ever eat one again.
ha ha ha! you make puns like I do! laughing at your monkey tail horror -- I have an aversion to eating anything that's called a "finger" -- that relly grosses me out...
DeleteMe, too! I love tiramisu, for instance, but hate reading a description of them. "Ladyfingers?" Eww. :o)
DeleteReally grosses me out, I should say -- my typos have been awful lately!
DeleteOh I shouldn't have looked at the foliage stamp set. Now I want one badly and I know I don't need it :P The kiddo bedrooms are so pretty! Very inspiring! I am saving the link for when I move out! What a great idea for Halloween! A family-coordinated event is much more fun than just having kiddo dress up! You'll all look smashing! I didn't know about Gecko Press! Will have to take a look for sure! Have a great weekend Melissa and thanks for sharing the awesome cool stuff!
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to photographing the embarrassment that is going to be me and Andrew at Halloween time! REALLY looking forward!! tee hee
DeleteMiss C. informed me this morning that tomorrow is the first day of fall. Yippee!!!! On a side note, isn't it nice to have someone to remind me of these things? The first day of fall would pass me by if I didn't have my little Kindergartener to remind me. :)
ReplyDeleteThat chicken recipe looks dee-lish! I pinned it. :) And that stamp set is divine!
Julia wouldn't care two hoots about that stamp set -- you know who would? ME. I want it, SO BAD.
Deletefall, fall, fall, fall, fall, fall, la la la! I just made a Christmas song out of fall.
I am dying to see the costumes.....can I possibly wait till the 31st to see them?!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have a sneak peek of THE HAIR (that's the only way I can refer to it) week after next or so :)
DeleteI just saw a different really cool diy marble roller earlier this week... but I like the one you've got here even better. Looks more like something I could recreate in some way. Very cool find!
ReplyDeleteI really really really love all the pictures you've been using for your Friday posts with the text on them- very lovely!
Miss Robyn, thank you thank you! Photography has become such a special thing in my life. I love working on the Friday posts more than anything else I do in the week! And I'm officially 100% no foolin' mega-obsessed with fonts now :)
