  4. Play soup was one way I kept my oldest busy as a toddler while I was cooking dinner. I hit the dollar store for sprinkles, cinnamon, etc. and let her go to town with it. She loved to eat some of her finished product (gag) and she stayed happily working in the kitchen with me. Great idea to take it outside in the summer. . . . Another fabulous post, Melissa!

    1. You're so kind Shannon!! Love that your kiddo tried to eat her soup! I have a secret to tell about latest 'soup' -- we left it out for a week (or 2) because I just didn't know where to put it, it was so oily and had all these peppercorns in it, so I couldn't pout it down the drain and I just sort of left it sitting outside for awhile. MISTAKE. Oh the smell. We grew toxic slime, basically! Andrew and I had to open a garbage bag, pour it in and we agreed that this must never ever happen again -- it was soooooo nasty!! tee hee

    1. Ha ha ha, that's awesome! I think my parents were the all time champions on spice hoarding -- I swear there were some spice bottles that were in our home for at least a decade...no joke!
