Poo Bum

September 18, 2012

Hey you guys! I just want you to know that I laughed AND squealed AND clapped my hands when I saw this book, oh so endearingly titled, ‘Poo Bum’. I have the humor of a 5 year old and someone wrote a children’s book to reflect that, just for me!

PooBum2PooBum1PooBum3Now, I don’t know what your personal beliefs entail, but my personal belief is that the word “Poo” is really, really funny. So is the word “Poop.” My daughter thinks so too! My husband thinks we are both deranged, but mostly me, because I should know better. I DON’T KNOW BETTER.

All I know is that this book looks brilliantly hilarious and apparently author Stephanie Blake’s next book coming out (this October 2012!) is called ‘Stupid Baby’. I love it already!

Oh I forgot that I also really adore the word “poopy”. Poopy poppy poop poop is super amusing to say, ten times fast. Try it and tell me if I’m wrong!

  1. When Little Sis was tiny - as in NOT EVEN TWO - I asked her what she wanted for dinner. "Poo poo sandwich!" And she squealed with laughter. "Um, okay, baby, what do you really want for dinner?" "Poo poo salad!" More howling.

This book would appeal to her greatly. I don't know if I could handle it. ;o)

    1. I'm howling too at the thought of this little baby toddler demanding her poo-poo sandwich! I should start a story hour somewhere called 'Aunty Melissa's Potty Talk Tales'....

  2. Kids find the word poop so funny! I have a student and he says POOPIE nonstop. This reminds me of a child favourite... POOPIE BUTT!

But, I do kinda draw the line at stupid, if only because my mom taught me that was the worst of bad words and quite punishable, haha!

    1. When I was Kindergarten age, I thought the worst word imaginable was 'idiot' -- even when I got a bit older I still could hardly bring myself to say it -- I thought lightning would emerge from the sky and strike me down. I have no idea where I got the idea that it was the worst of all words???

  3. Is it just me, or did becoming a parent suddenly make poop talk acceptable, expected even? ;) We've had a lot of laughs around here over the topic in the last five years. I don't see it going away time soon. LOL

    1. Poop is funny all the time, at any age! I think this is a well proven fact. Unless you ever have a cat with Irritable Bowel issues, like our previous cat Robin. Then poop is no longer funny. That cat pooped more than Julia at the time (she was a baby/toddler when he was alive..)

  4. Your difficult cat was named Robin. uh oh... anyways, poop is funny, we went on a poop walk last fall and took pictures of all the poop we found and when Trapper's mom saw us and asked us what we were doing I'm pretty sure she thought I was the craziest person in the universe.

    1. ha ha! we really did love him, he was a special little guy. But oh the throwing up and the poop issues...oh my!

Your poop walk....well that's just the most brilliant thing I've ever heard of! Like legendary level of awesome! Your kids are going to reflect upon this more closely when they're adults and realize that you were the Coolest Mom Who Ever Lived.

  6. My place is always full of little ones so I hear the Poo and Pee word at least once a day :P I don't know if it's because they are boys but it seems they just loooove to say those "forbidden" words Hahaha! I can totally see my toddler nephew go crazy for that book!
