Kinder Chocolates

October 16, 2012

Since Halloween is also known as Candy Day around our house, I thought I'd share a favorite treat that I find at Cost Plus World Market. (You can also find them in the Julia's Bookbag shop! In the Cool Stuff I Like section.)

Kinder chocolates! I discovered this line of yummy last year and I can't rave about them enough. A nice small size, perfect for a tiny treat at lunch. And they have milk-based fillings, so you can kid yourself that this treat is almost healthy. (Chocolate is healthy!) The Kinder Country bar has puffed rice in it, and the Kinder chocolate bars have a creamy milky center. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

The really awesome stars in the line though are the Happy Hippo biscuits. OF COURSE I'VE TRIED THEM ALL. How do you think I know all of this? The Happy Hippo biscuits have chocolate and milk filling in the middle, with a crispy biscuit covering that has cocoa sprinkles on them. DIVINE.

These treats are some of the coolest, most fun foody finds I've ever happened across. If these were in my lunchbox as a kid, I would have freaked out. I wonder if my kiddo knows how awesome I am? I don't think she does.

  1. Mmmm, I need to try these! When I went to Europe with my high school German class, it became a running gag that at every stop I'd buy a Milka bar and at every Gelato/Eis vendor, I'd buy some chocolate Gelato/Eis. These look AWESOME! Like I needed a new excuse to hit World Market...

    3. Before I posted that, I actually double-checked they weren't owned by the same corporation or something. Actually, World Market is owned by Bed, Bath & Beyond!

  3. Oh my gosh!!! As we know I am on a weird post reading schedule these days. Well, I was carchin' this one via the good old phone while I was putting stuff away around the house...guess what? I have a cost plus world market in my new town!!! Haven't been yet!!! I am now going tomorrow!!! Also, I'm standing in the pantry and I know I came in for a reason, but I Have NO IDEA why...I'm totally distracted by adorable hippo cookies!! Seriously, why am I in the pantry?

  4. We lived in Germany for about three years when I was a kid and they sell kinder chocolates in every corner store. We loved the kinder eggs--have you seen them? The outside is chocolate and the inside has a tiny prize inside. We thought they were the best things ever. I still think they are amazing and ask my swiss sister in law to bring me them in her suitcase. I pretend they are for my kids. :) I've never tried the hippos, but they look divine.

  5. Those hippos are adorablicious! Yes, I just made that up... but doesn't it seem fitting? I must get myself to Cost Plus; it's been far too long. I think Miss C. Would go nuts if she found one in her lunchbox. :)

P.S. Our Target and Cost Plus stores are in adjacent shopping centers. Very convenient!
