The Return of the Stick Tree!

October 10, 2012

Well my spookies, our stick tree was on hiatus for a few months, but it has come back to us! Oh happiness! (Not.) It's better than ever! (No. Several branches have broken in the months spent in the garage.) If you are a new friend to Julia's Bookbag, allow me to divert your attention for a moment to previous incarnations of our stick tree, which we have been decorating in accordance with various holidays.

You can see moments of past stick tree glory here, here, here AND here!

  1. We have a stick tree, too. It became very, very skimpy during its tenure in the garage. Yours looks MUCH better. I love your glittery paper ornaments!

    1. Thank you oh so kindly! I think I need a new batch o' sticks. One stick in particular leans in a weird way and always afraid that it's gonna get someone in the eye...I have one more idea for the stick tree and then I think it will be retired...:)

  3. This is what blogging's all about! Ah ha ha ha ha and I love it so much. Much laughter coming your way from me- this was a very very funny post and the stick tree looks lovey as always. Hooray for glitter! (the little ghosts are my favorite)

    1. The ghosties are my favorite too, would have been fun to have a whole tree of ghosts..

I really wanted to have a post all about our sweet little tree and then just swear at it, but I feel like that would have been inappropriate. Because like, during the Valentine's phase of the tree? This was me: %^$^$&^$&**@#@. I'm trying to get Andrew to start the swearing blog, ha ha!

  4. I love how you re-used the stick tree for each holiday! My sister-in-law has a stick tree but it's always bare. I wonder why she keeps it... I'll show her your post to give her some ideas! ;-)

  5. Okay, so what if it's midnight and I'm not on an actual computer, but rather a typo happy phone, THE STICK TREE HAS RETURNED!!! Hallelujah!!! And, now with glitter...you know what they say about great minds right? (except maybe when the great minds both plan a project with glitter, which it has been scientifically proven is harder to get rid of than lice.)

So funny and sad that this is the last time we'll see the stick tree...can you do a post on how it gets destroyed? Please! That would be hilarious!!

I would say I'm really back from my hiatus, but who knows honestly...I just hate missing out! Especially on a farewell to the stick tree! I've loved it so :)

    1. I might have told a TEENSY LIE -- I thought of an idea for another phase of Stick Tree. But then, for sure, ALL DONE! ;)

And I will happily video us breaking and stomping on the sticks when we're done, that's a great idea!! maybe we'll just feed them to the cat, she eats anything.

  6. Okay, I am a big fan of the stick tree, but I have to say that this halloween version might be my favorite (and I'm not even a big halloween decor girl--please don't hold that against me!) Seriously--this thing is awesome. And the more glitter the better, I say. We are making those candy corns. I love this.

    1. So glad you like it!! My personal fav was the snowflake tree incarnation. I can't take credit for the candy corns, that was Julia's idea! I think it would be fun to make a ton of the candy corn shapes and make a garland out of them....:)
