Cool Stuff I Like

What week. Many feelings all over the place! Be well, storm sufferers. I'm proud that the people of my state voted for marriage equality. Speaking of my area, I have never seen so many leaves on the ground in all my years of living in the Pacific Northwest, as I've seen this fall. They are EVERYWHERE. Random moment alert: I feel slumpy. It's the time change. I hate the time change. In Hawaii there are no time changes, and even though I've lived with the silly things for 20+ years now, I still dread them EVERY time the time changes. Speaking of Hawaii, I'm going. Just me alone, for a super short trip to visit my dad. You won't miss me though because I've got some posts lined up already and when I get back I'll write about Hawaii so we can all feel warm together! Also, I have created perhaps my finest post. Andrew is probably wanting to change all my passwords so I can't get on the computer anymore. I'll leave you with that...

COOL STUFF this week is of the Christmas trinket variety, because it's time to start thinking about it! I'll be throwing out ideas each week. 'Cuz I'm helpful.

And I wouldn't be a good friend if I didn't direct your attention to my Turkey Man post. Good luck with understanding a single word if it...

This cookbook about Thanksgiving looks fantastico!

Fireside Stories book and CD.

A real little girl room.

The most fun and beautiful glitter glue. (got this for J!)

Enchanted Fishing Game.

Silver Robots Colored Pencils

Moomin Sticky Notes!

$8 dollar winter hats.

Skillet Apple Pie.

Apple Cider or Gingersnap caramels?

Cool Book of the Week: 'The Homemade Home for Children' by Sania Pell. Oh I want this! Doesn't it look fantastic?? Just saw it over at Magic Cabin. Sorry friends, this is one that the cover just SUCKED ME IN, I haven't flipped through it yet. I wonder if the crafts are above my cutting and taping skills? Who knows? There's also tips on organizing (be still my heart!) and ways to encourage creative play (step AWAY from video game, Julia!). Plus, it's like, pretty. I wants it!

HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND! Make some molasses cookies! Julia and Andrew are probably going to go see 'Wreck It Ralph', they're both excited for this one, bless their little video-game loving hearts...

  1. Oh, gracious, I need this book! How wonderful!
Love the Moomin sticky notes. Have you seen the Thanksgiving issue of Martha Stewart Living? I am making it my Thanksgiving go-to this year. I can't remember the last time I've seen so many recipes I want to make it one issue. That room on Dos Family is adorable. Fireside Stories looks so sweet. Skillet apple pie and the chocolates... mmmmmm... I want the glitter glue for myself. Yay WA!!!

  2. Oooh girl. I have this book. And her first book, just "The Homemade Home." They are both so beautiful and so fun. I love her projects, Sania is really creative! She also designed a Christmas book that I love, i think its called Creating your Perfect Christmas. It has tons of fun projects in it as well! I made our Advent calendar from it!

  4. Have a good trip! I assume that's why you won't be attending Wreck it Ralph. Which was hilarious btw.

I have some really exciting news to share with you. I was looking through used books yesterday and I found a copy of The Book of Giant Stories by Harrison you talked about not long ago. $1.00 baby! I was like "I've gotta tell Melissa that I got my own copy!!!" It made me all excited.

That turkey is very funny (also everything you wrote about it). xoxox

  7. Hi, it's just me reading blogs in the middle of the night...I do that now. For some reason. Anyway!! HAWAII!! NOW!!! Lucky lucky lucky girl...I'm in 'the snowstorm' eluded to earlier this week...bleh!! I wanna be in Hawaii! I hope it's a for fun visit, and not anything sad or worrisome!! Mmm, have something tropical to eat and think of me. Do you want me to think of you when I'm getting stuck in the ruts of icy, poorly plowed roads?

So looking forward to the Andrew post!!! Yay!!
