WHAZZUP???
Andrew and I got Season 1 of ‘Homeland’ for Christmas from my ma. OMG. I see what the hype is about. Did you know that I’ve had a Damian Lewis obsession since way back in the day? Back from ‘Forsyte Saga’ days? I was ahead of the curve yo! Actually the people who liked him in 'Band of Brothers' were ahead of the curve. I missed that whole series, boo. I think he is the radicalest.
Can't wait to show you the haul of books we got for Christmas! I'm going to this place to go find some mince pies. It's not a proper holiday without mince pies. I have this bizarre need to feel Very British Indeed at Christmastime. (in addition to the bizarre need I have to feel British during the rest of the year.)
those are some crazzzy lights!! damian lewis makes my skin crawl...maybe its the evil lip curl or the red hair or the translucent skin covered in freckles. ghuh! i loved the forsytes. we are watching homeland too. not sure how i feel about it though, which is odd cause i usually love hbo tv. i don't like any of the characters. that is a problem. happy early new year!!

I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously am totally enthralled by him in anything he's in. Both Andrew and I loved that show 'Life' he was on, before it got cancelled. Happy New Yrs! Julia woke up at 4am on christmas day. I'm ready for school to be back in session! tee hee :)
DeleteIt was weird to not see you post too!
ReplyDeleteThose are incredible Chrismtas lights! Talk about dedication!
God I love that store with its tea cups and pots! Wished I had this here. Well maybe not as I would be spending more money again!
I hope your Christmas was fun! Have a great day!
can you imagine?? they have their own radio station that you can listen to in their driveway!!! christmas was fun, but I have had some christmas revelations, which I will post about in another week or so. sounds mysterious, no?
DeleteYes very mysterious!!! Can't wait to read what it is about!
DeleteI do love that Yoda. So. Much. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm making myself not post anything on my blog, but that doesn't mean I stay away from FB... stupid FB.
The hubby and I tried to go all Britishy a few Christmases. We went Italian this year instead. We made lasagna and salad. I told the family it looked Christmasy, all red and green, then I realized that I first read about a lasagna and salad Christmas dinner - "It's red and green!" - in a Sweet Valley High super special edition.
HA HA HA HA! Sweet Valley High!
Deleteyah ok, my internet addiction is so huge, that yep, I have been on FB way more than usual, due to not being on the blog so much. SIGH. Humans are dumb. What did we all do before the internet? I feel like things must have been much more productive. Like, instead of being online, I should learn how to sew. Or another language. OR SOMETHING USEFUL. aaaaaaagh. I'm having Post Traumatic Holiday Something. :)
So, you know, we really need to figure out how we got seperated at birth. ;)
ReplyDeleteI loooove Damien Lewis TOO!~! Ironically from Band of Brothers, not The Forsyte Saga because I read he's a mean character in that and I just couldnt take it (but Im guessing you'd say its worth it?)
A few months ago I watched all eight or so grueling episodes of BoB with my husband, who loves it-- mainly because he has watched roughly 500 hours of Downton Abbey and I thought I should be fair.
I loved the friendship between Damien Lewis and Ron Livingston's characters. At one point I turned to my husband and said, "They better not die or I will not be able to deal." lol!
I havent seen Homeland either...not sure my little heart could take it, but I am curious about it!
Glad you had an awesome holiday! Cant wait to see your haul!
PS: when I'm not being Swedish I'm totally being British, lol.
Deletewe are brothers from another mother (not sure how the phrase translates to chicks :), seriously..
DeleteI'm totally either being British or Swedish :)
OOOOOH you MUST WATCH FORSYTE SAGA -- here's the brilliance of Damian Lewis -- seriously a messed up evil character -- and yet SO MUCH CHARISMA -- you just feel for him all the same. He was AMAZING in that role, you gotta see!!
Maybe "sisters from different misters?" haha!
DeleteYES! love it. i should have thought of that! the holidays have destroyed what was left of my brain :)
DeleteHoly cow! Awesome lights. We have a great house to visit in our town too, with their lights synced to a radio station and stuff as well. GUESS WHAT I GOT FOR XMAS??!! Downton Abbey calendar and the new book!! Oh yeah baby!! :)
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend. Are you talking about the Downton cookbook? Or is another book? B/c I TOTALLY GOT THE COOKBOOK and I've basically been freaking out ever since. Blog post COMING SOON!
DeleteNope, not the cookbook - THIS ONE! http://www.amazon.ca/The-Chronicles-Downton-Abbey-New/dp/1250027624/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1356745739&sr=1-2
Deletep.s. did your mom like the digital frame?
holy cow that looks RAD/FAB/AWESOMELY-FANTASTIC!
Deletethe cookbook, I am so flipped out over it you have no idea
YES! it was the best present for her, she loved it! thank you SO much for the idea!
Happy Christmas Melissa at julias bookbag! We had a Christmas special of Downton on this side of the pond, but my youngest developed a temperature just before it started. Oh dear, I must admit I was torn between concern about him and my desperate need to catch up with Lady Mary (on holidays! In Scotland! With a cousin called Shrimpy!) Anyway, he has now recovered and I missed all but the last ten minutes. Which I will not tell you anything about. Except that it is all as sumptous and costume drama -ey as ever.
ReplyDeleteMISS LUCY I am so so jealous!I CANNOT WAIT. SO EXCITED.
Delete(oh and I hope your son is better! and will have better timing in the future, tee hee)
I also have a bizarre need to feel British at Christmastime, too! How lovely would it be to spend Christmas in England!!? And how nice that you have a British emporium close by. Are you in Portland or Seattle?
ReplyDeleteI DID ONCE!!!! when I was 20, with my family. it was very very fun but honestly, it felt like we missed christmas :)
DeleteI'd be ready to give it another try though!!!!
Seattle! just outside. And I love this tea shop/gift store place, it has real British pub food that is delicious, not disgusting. The best mine tarts and sticky toffee pudding I've ever had :)
'MINCE', not 'mine', doh
DeleteI want to be British too! Due to um, budget concerns, we paused our Dish subscription so I totally missed the Dr. Who Christmas episode. Whaaa! So do the British ever think the same about us across the pond?
ReplyDeleteyou know, I have often wondered the same thing ~ I have this suspicion that Brits (and the the rest of the world)see us as loud and annoying? :)
