Hot Dwarves and Fab Witches

RAcollageSaw ‘The Hobbit’ finally! I am here to tell you, AGAIN, that RICHARD ARMITAGE is just IT. And the hottest thing to hit Middle Earth since my man Viggo. Friends, I don’t even know how many truckloads of charisma a dude has to have to be able to pull off all that hair and face fur and middle earth grunge and still exude so much HOTNESS.

Ok remember this post about ‘North & South’? Have you all seen it? The first few minutes that I got the gist that RA, as he’s known on his fansites, (not to be confused with rheumatoid arthritis, which is also known as RA) was the male lead, I was like, huh really? And then he started talking. THAT VOICE. Holy *&^$@!#. And by the end of the mini-series, WEAK IN THE KNEES. GOOD GRIEF, why isn’t ‘Downton Abbey’ like that?? Apparently ‘North & South’, which was what, like 8 or 9 years ago, made RA legions of faithful followers, including me.  If you guys STILL haven’t seen that mini-series, you GOTTA.

SO FLIPPING HOT.

I’m also getting really really excited and also very nervous about the new ‘Oz’ movie. I’m excited because I adore all of the actresses playing the witches. And because I think if someone put some real pressure on me and said “No more chocolate. UNTIL YOU CHOOSE. Choose your favorite books from childhood, NOW.” I’d have to go ahead and say the ‘Oz’ books.

Oz1OzcollageOz7Why so nervous? The Franco factor. I’m hoping that his natural smarm will be a plus in this movie. Or that all the chicks have so much screen time that we don’t notice him very much.

My guess is that Rachel Weisz’s Evanora turns into the Wicked Witch of the West and that Mila’s Theodora becomes the Wicked Witch of the East. She dresses all in red, so doesn’t it make sense that she’d have a pair of ruby slippers? Or maybe it’s the other way around. Or maybe I don’t care because it doesn’t matter because SOMEONE is going to witch out in a BIG GREEN WAY and it’s going to be radical and I’m gonna clap and squeal.

I can’t decide if Mila’s red ensemble or Rachel’s glamour gown is going to be my Halloween costume next Halloween. Or I could be a Hobbit and hope that Richard Armitage finds me. Wait I'm married! Love you Andrew!! He totally fixed my computer, which was deader than dead, without batting an eyelash. HOT.

(P.S. I was in ‘The Wiz’ when I was in high school, and I was Munchkin #3 and I rode around on a little tricycle under a giant dress skirt thing. IT WAS SO AWESOME.)

    1. Love Viggo. He's even older than I am! :)

I'm really really curious if the Oz movie will be awesome, terrible or terrible-in-an-awesome way.

  2. I know you wrote a lot of words there but the picture of RA kept distracting me.

    1. yeah, you can just ignore the words. they're irrelevant. :)

it probably would have been an even better post if I had just posted half a dozen pix of him. maybe i'll turn the blog into a RA fansite. because however many there are, there aren't enough.

  3. *sigh* The Hobbit. was. amazing. And I kept thinking to myself, "Some of these dwarves are kind of hot, especially that lead one" The man can really pull off the grunge look. Even with those eyebrows, still hot! ;) I can't wait for Oz either. Seeing all the trailers gives me a nervous excitement in my tummy. I really hope Franco pulls this one off. If he can keep his goofy, stoner smile under wraps, I think we might be okay :D (He did a pretty good job in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, so maybe there is hope!)

    1. ok you know who else was hot? the other dwarf who was like a twin or something, Kili. His name (cuz I looked it up) is Aidan Turner and he was on that show 'Being Human' not sure if it was the original Brit version or the sci-fi channel knockoff. Prolly the original?

    2. The original. Swoon. Like the cast of both though.

  4. This is, hands down, my favorite blog entry of yours thus far. Don't know RA. Haven't see the Hobbit. Haven't seen North and South. However, LOVE ME SOME VIGGO.
I am also excited about Oz, never read the books as a kid...*gasp* but I am also nervous about Franco. He is smarmy McSmarmville. But it looks gorgeous!

Well damn girl, I love everything to do w/ the entertainment industry b/c it's so...ENTERTAINING. so maybe I should work in a little feature about My Thoughts on More Things You Never Wanted to Hear Me Opine About Re the Entertainment Biz.

Or a feature on Hot English Guys. Actually I'm 100% certain that will be a post coming soon to a blog near you. (this one :)

  6. I still haven't seen The Hobbit. Or anything else recently, except Frankenweenie at the discount theatre. Mr. B wants to see stuff, too, and he doesn't have real weekends. It's hard to figure out the logistics. :o/ I know I'll wait to hear what other people think before trying to see Oz. I'm picky. And Viggo? Yep...

  7. I had no idea Rachel Weisz was going to be in Oz the Great and Powerful. I think she's pretty awesome.

Oh Richard Armitage. I've seen North and South three times now and I never get tired of it. He's pretty adorable. You should go check out Karen's blog (http://smallearthvintage.blogspot.com/). She loves him and frequently posts photos (especially on her tumblr).

    1. LOOOOVE Rachel! Love Mila as well, but really not sure what she's doing with Ashton Kutcher.

I think I need to OWN 'North & South' because I really want to see it again. I'll definitely check out that blog, Karen sounds like a lady who knows her English dudes.

  8. I'm still laughing about the Rheumatoid arthritis comment. :) How fun that you were a munchkin and riding about on a tricycle? amazing. We just walked past the oz series at the library two days ago and I thought, "should we read them together next?" mostly, I am just so ready to get back into all my childhood favorites, but I don't want to rush it--also, I don't want us to read all the good stuff together and then what is left for her to read and discover on her own? such a quandary I am always in...

    1. I feel EXACTLY the same way you do about the books....EXACTLY! :)

as long as I get in Charlie & the Charlie Factory (which we're doing) and Stuart Little, then I guess she can be on her own...although she has to read A Little Princess too....ooooh the book OCD!

  12. Hmmm...I hit a button and I'm not sure if I sent my previous message or not. If so, I apologize for 2 comments. I stumbled upon North & South on Netflix on one of my night feedings with Clara (also known as, Little C) and BY GOD I had to watch the entire thing even though I was so sleep deprived because of the magnificence of RA. Holy shnikeys! God broke the mold with that one. I haven't seen The Hobbit yet but I've heard, even with RA with all his dwarf makeup is still THE MAN!

    1. RIIIIIIGHT?????? I'm so happy to have found so many like-minded RA fans. I wasn't planning on watching all of North & South at one go, but I did, I had this random wkend afternoon when Julia was with her g-ma, and once I started, I had to power it out and watch the whole thing, I was so enthralled!
