It's Domo! Domo is so cute. Have you all been cleaning? For Happy Chinese New Year? Cleaning cleaning cleaning? To get rid of all of last year's bad luck? I cleaned 2 out of 3 toilets. So I guess one toilet will be the unlucky toilet. Actually all of our toilets are unlucky because they all plug up at the drop of a hat, they're terrible, terrible toilets. I'm going to stop talking about my toilets now, because if I don't, I'm fairly certain that Andrew will change all of my passwords and not allow me on the internets anymore. You can find a very comprehensive list of Chinese New Year recipes and food superstitions right here.
COOL STUFF that is way cooler than toilets:
This TEENAGE girl's food blog (Top With Cinnamon) is SO FAB and I've GOTTA make this treat.
Have you seen my Cool Stuff for Kids Pinterest board? It's really awesome. Just sayin'.
These building straws are going to be one of Julia's birthday presents this year.
This is incredible. I just....my jaw dropped...no words...omg....gasping....
You have got to see these celebration kits from Studio Oh!
Love these gorgeous Swedish tea towels.
The easiest pancake recipe ever.
Good or gross? I say these look AMAZING, guess what Andrew says.
Cool Book of the Week: 'I Haiku You' by Betsy Snyder. I'm a BIG Betsy Snyder fan, as evidenced by the adoration I spilled forth in this post on her cuter than cute baby books. I give her books away as gifts. Colorful. FUN. Charming! It's hard to find books for tiny tots cuter than the work Betsy creates. "Noodles so yummy, love letters for your tummy" ~ your toddler is going to LOVE this one. I can't praise this cutie pie enough.....

I can totally talk toilets with ya. All I asked for Valentine's Day was a new seat (it's doing this weird corroding thing) and my husband was all like "there is no way I'm getting you a toilet seat for Valentine's!" Fine then, buy me diamonds. See if I care : )
ReplyDeletei think a toilet seat would be a very fine and worthy valentine's present. certain things gain a certain luster as one ages. I totally can see the value in a nice functional toilet without a corroded seat! :)
DeleteWell, peanut butter cookies are my favorite, but I must admit, I think I'm with Andrew on that one! ;o)
ReplyDeleteI love those celebration kits. And I saw that Candyland at Bakerella - holy @#$! And yep, I added those building straws to the girls' wish list, too! I'm curious about the pancakes, and I love your Cool Stuff for Kids pinboard.
Have a happy weekend! Hope it doesn't involve toilets!
yeah I figured I might be in the minority on that one. i think it sounds fantastic!! :)
DeleteI seriously CANNOT BELIEVE that woman MADE ALL THAT STUFF. People are so awesome!
OMG that book is sooooooo flipping cute.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea straws could be that cool.
Man that Candyland is amazing.
the world can be a place of infinite awesome :) --my nugget of zen for the day
DeleteThe Candyland is just incredible! So much talent, passion and patience!
ReplyDeleteI haven't finished cleaning the house! D: Frankly too tired to do the whole cleaning New Year routine! I will just have to accept that my windows will be dirty this year!
Your little girl is getting so big :D Can't wait to see what you will do for her birthday party!
Yeah I'm not cleaning either. Last wkend I tidied up the whole house from top to bottom b/c we had some people coming over for the first time. It lasted a day. and now I'll be coasting on cleaning and tidying for the next couple of months...at least.
DeleteI love that Haiku book, too! Also "Guyku" is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteooooh I haven't seen that one! will go looking! I have several friends with toddlers.
DeleteYou'll have to post some caution tape outside the "unlucky" toilet. Wouldn't want anyone to get sucked down into it or anything. Have I been cleaning? No. Does that mean my entire house will be unlucky? Eeek.
ReplyDeleteOh my God. "Top with Cinnamon" looks amazing. Her photography is making me feel like I need to go take a class or something.
My husband will be happy to tell you that all this new yr superstition regarding cleaning is a pile of hooey. :)
Deletehmmm, I vacuumed and mopped today, but no toilet cleaning. I guess the floors will be lucky and the toilets will continue being unlucky....I"m not cleaning them today. :) That haiku book looks adorable. thanks for sharing as always! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeletei live to share Miss V, always :) ~ much to Andrew's deep chagrin :)
DeleteI need to clean. I mean I really need to clean!! Ugh I get very tired of cleaning the house because it doesn't last but a day or two. We are messy people! I always put my bathrooms off as long as I can. Oh, and dusting too, not a fan! Anyway I am sure I will do some cleaning this weekend. Sounds like fun, don't you think???
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! And maybe we will make the easiest pancake recipe. Yum!!
totally with you on the bathroom procrastination.....:)
DeleteOkay, first of all those peanut butter cookies look amazing. My hubby would totally love them, especially since they contain the all-important-magical-ingredient: marshmallow! I think I'd prefer a buttercream filling.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I was completely bowled over by that crazy candy party. Wowza! I want to live there!
And third... this is terrible, but as cool as those straws look I just know Captain Destructo (a.k.a. Master W.) would never let a straw playhouse stand for long. He's the sweet little boy version of the Big Bad Wolf... but instead of blowing down Miss C.'s house he'd just knock it over with his over-exuberance. LOL
