Sunday's Sundae

I have about 3 more posts on this topic. WHAT TOPIC Melissa? The topic of my inability to figure out what to feed my family lately.

One of the things we've decided to do to alleviate the Xtreme Boredom that has set into our eating routine is EAT MORE ICE CREAM.

So even though it's Thursday, and not Sunday, I'm showing you our first Sunday's Sundae. (julia thought that one up!) I won't show you every single week, because you and I both would be scratching out our eyes. We're trying to AVOID boredom, remember? But once in awhile I will show you our creations. Cuz I'm helpful like that and I live to photograph my food.

Problem #1. I'm really the only one around here who likes sundaes. Andrew didn't have one at all and Julia decided halfway through hers that she hates caramel sauce. (THIS ONE is the bestest ever by the by, don't listen to my daughter.)

Very Helpful Tip: mini marshmallows are the best marshmallows and I suggest using them whenever you can.

(P.S. I'm laughing at how I made that blog-arty stack of white bowls and then I ate out a floral bowl and Julia asked to eat from a storage container.)

  1. Caramel makes everything better!!! LOL-ing so much at your arty picture attempt :P

Choosing a meal for the family is always a challenge! I have so little time that I am now using a catering service which cooks food for the whole family each day. So I don't have to worry about that anymore!

  3. Sometimes I think I'm lacking the meal planning lobe of the brain because I can never think of new things to feed my family. Maybe it's because everyone is so darn picky. Or maybe I'm just really bad at meal planning. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a website where you could type in all the ingredients your family likes to eat (as well as the dislikes) and it would spit out a long list of sure-fire recipes?

  4. Hahaha!!! I didn't even notice the bowls 'til you pointed them out!

I hate thinking up what to fix for dinner. I'm the lone vegetarian, but I have lots of things in my arsenal that the husband will eat. But both girls at the same time? Hahahahaha. No. He usually fares better on his nights to cook.

I made two homemade pumpkin pies yesterday, though. It was Mr. B's birthday. Pumpkin pie is his favorite and the canned stuff was on clearance. Yippee!

    1. I want some pumpkin pie! Andrew would too. He's not a big ice cream fan, but he loves milkshakes :)

  5. ice cream as the food problem solution... I like that. That's something we could all wrap our minds around in this house... except that everyone but me loves chocolate. there's that.

  6. You make an excellent point on mini marshmallows.

When we don't feel like cooking, we make egg sandwiches.

    1. Love egg sandwiches! my daughter would barf on them right in front of me if I were to present her with any kind of egg presentation. she hates eggs. I LOVE eggs. this is a great hardship in my life....:) Because scrambled eggs and toast is the great all time fall back what-do-i-make-for-dinner solution.

  8. I love caramel sauce. It's too bad we don't have a Trader Joe's! It's pretty awesome it's available online, though.

I go through those "I don't want to cook/eat/clean up after anything." Paul and I just had banana splits for dinner once. I think I have to blog about food so that I actually cook! :-)
