More cherry blossoms than last year!

Are you ready? We had our annual trip to see our town's local cherry blossom display. (Here's last year's trip.)

A few things, then I will show you more cherry blossoms than you ever ever wanted to see.

We went on Easter.

So did everyone else.

There were more blossoms that last year, we hit it EXACTLY at the right time. There were also kabillions more people.

I love cherry blossoms.

YEAH! Cherry blossoms! That's all I can think of to say.

Oh. Question for you out there. I think I've amassed enough photos of cool/awesome/pretty nature stuff and other assorted miscellanery to warrant the attempt to turn them into a set of notecards. What think you of that idea? And if my attempt goes well, would anyone like a set, like say, for a giveaway? If you were the proud owner of some cards, would you, like, send them in the mail to someone?

  1. Hello lovely Melissa!

Yay! Another cherry blossom lover. This clearly puts down in stone that our friendship is for EVER!

Of course I would say yes to some of your cards and, yes, I would send them to people I actually like!

    Happy Monday to you.

    1. Hey, if I make them, then maybe you could send one to me! That would be funny. :) I'm so silly.

Happiest of Mondays to you sweet Stephanie!

  2. I only send pretty cards in the mail if I buy it specifically for that person, or if the card is from a set, if I have more than one. If I buy a pretty card set, chances are I bought it for ME! :o)

I'm still mad that I was I missed seeing the cherry blossoms in DC last year. We were there at just this time of year, but with the lack of winter, they bloomed early! They'd even finished blooming before the Cherry Blossom Festival! So I'm jealous you get to see them in their gorgeousness up close. All we have are Bradford Pear trees in bloom everywhere. They're beautiful, but I am so allergic to them.

And if my grammar or sentence structure is completely out of whack, little girls did not afford me enough coffee time this morning. We're off to a rough start. Kansas storm season is upon us.

    1. Storm season! That sounds so exciting! And anxiety provoking! I've very intrigued by extreme weather you know. Have you ever been close to a tornado?? Oh I feel nervous. :)

    2. I am one of the rare Kansans who has never actually seen one in person. The one that hit south Wichita last year did hit the Spirit Aerosystems plant while my dad was at work. And my husband is from the Joplin, MO area. His parents lived north and south of Joplin, but we were worried that they could have been in town when it hit. They were all safe at home, though. I have a good friend who is from Greensburg. His mom and sister lost their homes. I know people who have lost homes in other tornadoes. But I've been lucky. The tornadoes freak me out, but we have some awesome thunderstorms. :o)

  3. Melissa, you should absolutely turn your photography into pretty notecards!!! I have a great love of stationary, going back to my girlhood days when I used to send letters to friends who lived far away. I don't have a stationary collection anymore but every time I go to write a short note or thank you, I sure wish I had some pretty cards on hand. Yours would be most welcome in my desk drawer! :) xoxo

  6. Thanks for sharing. Makes me miss UW at this time of year, it was always my favourite time to be at school. I used to think of it as springtime snow. It hasn't happened yet for us out here in Cambervillington (thats Cambridge, Somerville and Arlington combined into one word, the towns I hang out in the most), but it will soon and all the streets will be aglow with beautiful pink and white blossoms. We get the best of it out in the East, fall colours and spring flowers. :-) Course we also get feet of snow and something called 'mud season'. Good times.

  8. YES! Do the notecards. I am always motivated to write letters/notes on pretty cards, although I usually keep at least one for me, pinned up somewhere to look at.

    1. I've created so much art from notecards! Ornaments, framed pieces. I have a little fairy picture in J's room, from an old Christmas card of a fairy in flight....I wish I had some nice sets, I see many that I like but I never buy them, always seems like a needless expense, but I think I would send so much more mail to friends if I had fun notecards :)
