Just a quick pop in to show you THIS BEAUTY! Remember my Great Swedish Fairy Tales post? No? That's ok. Anyway, my copy is over 30 years old and I tried to read a story from it to my kiddo the other night and it was so gross and moldy inside that we were all amazed, horrified, and disgusted.
So I ordered a brand new copy, and what was once 'Great Swedish Fairy Tales' has been redone into this gorgeous hardcover called 'Swedish Folk Tales' and let me tell you, the art by John Bauer is even more amazing than it was in my old paperback. Big, huge new scans of the art!
It's glorious. I'm so thrilled with it!
This looks completely amazing. I just popped over to your original post and the illustrations are stunning. Pinned this to add to my wishlist.
ReplyDeletethis is a book I would reach for if I had to suddenly leave my home and grab only 10 books! The art is UNBELIEVABLE, and the stories are great, and fun, and unlike stories you see in other collections....:)
DeleteAh yes I remember that book you blogged about before. Good thing you were able to get a new copy!
ReplyDeletemy old copy was just too too gross....had to get a new one! So happy I did!
DeleteAwesome! I think I checked this one out from the library once, but we didn't get around to reading it, then it had to be returned. It looks so fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteha ha ha I do that all the time! :)
