The Dance of Wallowy Bigness

I've got a couple of fun, cute, and HAPPY books for you and your tiny tots today! And they're both all about celebrating what makes an individual.....individual. I like to celebrate my own individuality A LOT. You can ask my husband. I like to celebrate acting like a two year old, I like celebrating my inner chocolate fiend, and I really like celebrating my ability to spend more time on Pinterest than anyone you've ever seen.

I also enjoy laughing at my own jokes, and basically I just really like to applaud myself whenever I can. Sometimes I have really good hair days. When that happens, I definitely give myself an inward high-five. Because that's like, an accomplishment.

So when I was sent 'The Dance of Wallowy Bigness' and 'Cow Party', by Giles Andreae and Janet Cronin to review, I was WAY into these darling little books, which are part of the World of Happy series. Giles is also the maestro responsible for one of Julia's favorite toddler books, 'Rumble in the Jungle'.

Simple and sweet! Perfect for ages 3-5. The message? Be yourself and HAVE FUN DOING IT! When a hippo realizes that she can't dance like a ballerina, she decides to have fun doing her very own "dance of wallowy bigness" in the water.

And in 'Cow Party' (Yeah! Cow party!), a king chooses a partner by seeking out the cow who presents herself the most honestly, as opposed to hiding behind garish costumes and makeup. (Question: Will my daughter mind at all if I shout this message in her face when she's a teenager??)

I love the idea the World of Happy people are promoting: Fill Yourself with JOY and LOVELINESS! They forgot to add CHOCOLATE, but that's ok.

(The publishers sent me these books to review, but as you can tell, the opinions expressed are very much my own. And as always, I've provided Amazon affiliate links to link you to the books.)

  1. So cute! 'Cow Party' sounds like one we could use around here. Miss C. is currently *obsessed* with nail polish and lip gloss. We don't allow it, but she's always talking about it (her friends have it) and trying to find an angle in which we'd allow her to have it. Ugh.
