The Fairy Door

June 24, 2013

Fairy doors can appear when you least expect them! The Enchanted Door and 'Lil Fairy Door has many fairy doors that look just like the one that appeared in our home.....

Oh and today is International Fairy Day to you! Have a happy and magical day! Or the fairies might pinch you.

  1. This is probably one of the fantastic post I have come to read! What brilliant mind came up with creating fairy doors??? So incredibly cute and wonderful! (Where was all this when I was young?)

I did not know there was an International Fairy Day! Well Happy Fairy day to you too then :)

  2. I've been eyeing fairy doors for several years now! Now I must find a way to lure a fairy to our house! Does J. sneak around trying to spot the fairy at your house? Have you seen some of the outdoor fairy doors on Etsy?

    1. she checked the fairy door EVERY DAY for weeks after it first appeared....we were a leeeetle worried..

I have seen tons of cute outdoor doors all over the place, those are most readily available than the ones that look like townhouse doors, I think. SO many cute ones!

  4. I love this post. I read it at 4 am when insomnia got the better of me, but refrained from commenting until I could be more awake! With coffee! Because the sheer awesomeness would have caused me to embarrass myself all over the place. My Fairy Day isn't going as planned. I hope inspiration strikes soon. Meanwhile, I shall wish for a fairy door, because this is so sweet.

    1. ha ha! I went to bed waaaaaay too late, b/c I was looking up dolls that Miss Jane Cherie wrote about on her blog, you have to go see. I AM OBSESSED. They are cooler than Blythe dolls, they are cuter than EVERYTHING!!!!

We don't actually have anything cool planned for Fairy Day. It's raining and all we're doing is looking up Mini Pullip dolls online....:)

    2. I actually have a bunch of Pullip dolls pinned on my Toys For Mommy pinboard already. (Next to all the Blythes, of course.) I'm a dork. I can't afford any of them, of course. Mr. B indulges me a lot, but there are limits... And I especially want the Alice dolls, which she blogged about today!!! (Love you, Cherie!)

  5. You have a fairy door in your house?!?! Wow! We have a few midget closets (because our house is old and has all these strange small little closet spaces) but nothing so cool as your fairy door! Kitten didn't want to stop picking the flowers at my mom's the other day so my dad finally told her she needed to save the rest for the fairies. Her eyes lit up and the rest of the visit was spent laying out in the garden with papa trying to spot the fairies. :)

    1. Yes! The fairies moved in when Julia was 3 and a half. Honestly, I think it's time for another family of fairies to move in......I'd love for another door to appear :)

  6. I think that fairy door is the most adorable thing ever! The crystal doorknob!?! Guess what though, I'm pretty sure that if the fairies put in a door at our house they would not be able to keep up with the constant barrage of questions and notes and constant watching of the door that my children-- especially the 9 year old would be doing.

Never once has the tooth fairy visited without having to answer specific and pointed questions. Luckily she can remember how her handwriting looked the first time, and she's good at being shifty and changing the subject in her responses...the leaving of money helps too :)
