Cool Stuff I Like

Happy Friday! August, friends. What do we all think about that? Are we feeling a mad frenzy of panic? About all the summer stuff yet to be done? Our August is going to be craaaaaaazy, every single weekend is packed with stuff. I'm having total writer's block regarding this paragraph. There! I wrote a sentence. Now I've written another! This is bad. And dumb, I could write about so many things. But instead I'm going to drone on in this fashion until it's time to get to the Cool Stuff part of this blog post. Sometimes I wonder why blogs exist. Or more to the point, why mine exists.....

COOL STUFF for you this week:

Have I ever shared with you the recipe for Jenny's minty peas? I think I have. Maybe twice already. OH WELL. So delicious.

I don't think I can ever, ever, EVER repay my friend Sam for cluing me into the SHEER AWESOME HILARITY that is this Pinterest board. HOW did I not know about this? HOW?

This rug would be very cute in a kid's room! Have I already put this on a Cool Stuff list? I'm losing it.

Handmade toys for kids.

Popcorn chocolate chip cookies.

Oh yes. I'll be seeing this movie, no matter how many times they re-make it. (scroll down for the trailer)

Let's just talk about movies all day shall we? Good for you Ben Stiller, this looks awesome.

Guess how excited I am about this book. Go on, guess!

7 Ways to Paint Rocks.

Cool Book of the Week: So on my endless (and I mean, ENDLESS) To-Do list is subscribing to Anorak magazine, which has the coolest art, and has the coolest stuff and is just basically...the coolest. Anyway, I was over at their website the other day, and I noticed a book section, filled with scrapbooks, coloring books and this neato mosquito looking activity book called 'An Adventure with Goober the Goblin' by Matthew Bromley. For ages 5 and up, this is the type of thing my daughter LOVES. She adores mazes, and really likes this type of activity book that has cool and interesting little projects to do in them. Standard coloring books have never been her thing. If you never seen anything put out by Anorak, prepare to have your retinas energized in the best possible way!

    1. Don't those cookies look fun?? I like the sweet salty aspect. Have you ever heard of Momofuku cookies with the crispy cornflakes and marshmallows? I made those and put the recipe on Pink Sparkle Fun last yr ~ these cookies remind me of those :)

  3. Oh dear, a small person was looking over my shoulder when I clicked the popcorn cookie link-- I think those might be requested in the very near future :)

Love the rock painting!! We were doing a much less cool and way less chic version of that in our own backyard. We also made some cool painted rock valentines. I loved them!!

And those toys? We could totally do that!! (Once again much less cool and way less chic versions!)
