Cool Book of the Week: 'Little Owl's Night' by Divya Srinivasan. I have this sweet sweet little book for tiny tots, and I'm about to mail it to my toddler nephew. Oh it's so cute! The darlingest little board book about all kinds of animals wandering around and interacting with each other at night. And what happens when nighttime is nearly over?
Beautiful!
"The moon and stars fade to ghosts," Mama said. "Spiderwebs turn to silver threads. Dewdrops sparkle on leaves and grass like tiny stars come down. Moonflowers close and morning glories open."
Have a lovely weekend!! To the pumpkin patch we go!
~Melissa
Oh Wow, those lantern lights are so cool!
ReplyDeletethey're really fun! i got them at a local nursery. this time of year, all the way on thru to February, I need some kind of light strand hanging from my kitchen window :)
DeletePretty lights!!! I looked at the breakfast food and drooled. Then I clicked on that last link (before the book). And I love it! And then I read about Nella's birth story and cried and cried and I now look like a mess at the office. Things I read thanks to you are amazing. Have a good weekend Melissa!
ReplyDeleteKelle's blog is like my meditation temple. I come away uplifted every single time! Every time.
DeleteI love those pasta skeletons! Oh my goodness, those homemade graham crackers look yummy yummy yummy! (And at the risk of being labeled uncultured I'd argue that s'mores must must must be made with 100% milk chocolate. Anything else just isn't the same...)
ReplyDeleteI love that Julia wants to be a dragon! And that she was torn between that an a Viking – pure awesome! Miss C. is going to be a skeleton – I found some skeleton pajamas at Crazy 8, which will double as a costume for one night before making bedtime fun for the rest of the fall and winter. I think Master W. will be Peter Pan... at least for now. It's either that or he wants to be Sebastian the crab from The Little Mermaid.
aren't those fun? i'm with you re the milk chocolate. I LOVE that your daughter wants to be a skeleton! J told me something funny, she thinks that on Halloween you have to dress up as something Halloweeny! I was like, uh, I don't think that's necessarily the case :)
DeleteI've always wanted to have a Halloween craft party but another playgroup mom already had a lock on the holiday. At the very least, I hope to take some mini pumpkin cakes up to Joseph's class for them to decorate with frosting and sprinkles. (And Will is going to be a skeleton too -- a Mindcraft skeleton. Also using PJs for it. PJs make the best costumes because you just wear them to bed!)
ReplyDeletePJ costumes!!!! PJ's for everything, I say. :)
DeleteA dragon? Tooo cool!!! A green one or more Asian style one?
ReplyDeleteHoly cow I LOVE the H&M costumes. Especially the mermaid costume.
The mermaid!! Totally!!!
DeleteI wanted so badly for my son to be a viking for Halloween- curse the whole let-them-decide-for-themselves thing. I wanted to make a cardboard viking boat with the dragon bow with suspenders for him to wear. :( Those H&M costumes are rad.
ReplyDeleteAren't the H&M costumes so neato? I love them! After watching my kiddo dither and agonize for weeks on end, I seriously think next year we need to draw a costume out of a hat! :)
DeleteDespite the fact we own it, I still haven't watched How to Train Your Dragon. A dragon costume sounds cool, though! I'm a nerd, and actually knew all the Fitzgerald stuff. I obsess about the '20s, I think. That strata on the William-Sonoma post looks delicious. I'm curious about the homemade graham crackers. (Isn't the Kinfolk photography amazing?) The pasta skeletons are cute. I still think The Shining is scarier than It. The Mermag crafts look like fun. I thought the One More Mushroom wreath was so sweet. Love the H&M costumes and the Kelle Hampton post was pretty true. Glad to be a tiny blogger! My ego couldn't handle being one of those big-leaguers. I love Little Owl's Night! Owls = my happy. Hope you've had a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteI liked the movie but I really like the HTTYD mini shorts on Netflix, have you seen those? Julia loves them!!! The Shining is way scarier than It, but the movie It scared me A LOT!
Deletetotally want the new Kinfolk cookbook!
DeleteOh, I love this time of year when things get spooky! And a dragon sounds like a great choice! Audrey is going to be a pink butterfly. We are deep in the depths of pinkdom around here ;) super curious about that creepy book list....do I dare look!?! :)
ReplyDeletePink is always always a good thing! Let's dare together! I was in a crazy hurry and I linked before I looked, HA HA HA. How's that for responsible blogging?
