Cool Stuff I Like

October 25, 2013

Happy Friday! I've learned some very important Halloween facts this week. Julia told me that 1) ghosts can only enter the house that they are haunting, and 2) it takes 1000 yrs for a decomposing body to become a zombie. There. Are you not enlightened? Also, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln is very polite, and apparently knocks before entering your room. (she read a book about ghosts at school. I want that book!) And in other news, the other night Andrew and I watched the original 'Bride of Frankenstein' movie and it was a hoot. Also, I've been pretty darn good about staying OUT of the Halloween candy. I have not been as good about staying away from every pumpkin product Trader Joe's is selling right now. We have pumpkin waffles (awesome), mini pumpkin pies (awesome), a regular size pumpkin pie (also awesome), pumpkin pasta sauce (haven't tried), and pumpkin butter (i like the apple butter better). Oops the pasta sauce came from Cost Plus, my bad.

COOL STUFF I liked this week (there's an apple theme):

Wow! These books are amazing.

Old Fashioned Apple Crisp.

Book lockets!

Caramelized Apple Oatmeal.

Just ordered this book for Julia for Christmas.

This film just went to the top of my want to see movie viewing list!

Fall Baking ideas.

A Pumpkin Spice body scrub.

Alicia always write delightful posts, but this one was extra delightfuller.

Cool Book of the Week: 'Allegiant' by Veronica Roth is here! It's here, all you 'Divergent' fans!!! Are you out there? I love this series and I've been pacing like a tiger waiting for this one to come out. I've heard it's good. Entertainment Weekly gave it a B+. SO SO excited! (I've heard.....don't get attached to too many characters.)

Have a lovely weekend! Julia is going to watch original 'Star Wars' for the first time. We're so excited. I saw it when I was exactly her age. I remember being totally blown away! Wish me luck also with the Halloween "playdate"...it's NOT a party! (yeah right.)

    1. oh I'm jealous, you have a fun book to read now! sometimes it's better to wait until all the books in a series are out, so no waiting time! xo
