Halloween Chapter Books

So Julia's been doing a bit of Halloween book reading! I prolly should have said, 'Halloween Chapter Books for Girls' but hey, I didn't want to put a boy off from reading about ghost horses and candy fairies, because really, those types of things can be enjoyed by EVERYONE.

Oooh, the Candy Fairies books. Julia loves. Soooooooo very much! She was saving 'Gooey Goblins: Candy Fairies Halloween Special' for this month and she just read it and loooooooooved it. She adores this series! Man oh man, how I wish these had been around when I was little. Candy fairies? Sailing on a Vanilla Sea? Goblins and royal candy baskets? And adorable drawings of cute fairies???? SO UNFAIR I didn't have these as a kid!

And then we have 'Ghost Horse'. Awesome, don't you think? Julia is super keen on mystery type books (I wonder if she would like Nancy Drew in a bit??), and she saw this one at a book store and went snatchy snatch. She hasn't read it yet and I only gave it a cursory flip through, but hey, aren't those pix of some girls petting and loving on a DEAD HORSE super cute?

(I wonder how the horse died???? Maybe I should go look. Don't you love when I do reviews when I don't really know anything about the book?)

I love Halloween. Hey, I figure this book has got be more appropriate than 'The Omen' (yeah that one!) which somehow I got into at a friend's house when I was ten. Good grief.

  1. I saw the Candy Fairies books on Amazon and was wondering about them... Now you have completely convinced me and I am soooo getting them for my little girl for her future reading! And yes I agree: it's so unfair they didn't exist when I was a child!

  2. I keep thinking I'll try the Candy Fairy books for Big Sis, but she is stuck on Judy Moody. Although I did find out she's reading Superfudge at school, which makes me happy. The little one will probably be on to chapter books next year, though, so maybe I'll get one for her instead...
