The Ghost of Christmas Past

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

This is (i think), number five in my series of fairytale-inspired photos. Oh I've been sitting on this one for awhile now, and it's one of my very favorite photos that I've ever taken. (I'm always always my own best audience, ha!)

Which fairytale, are you asking? Well, not exactly a fairy tale, although it really is one. In this pic, I'm depicting the Ghost of Christmas Past, from Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'. Are you all big 'Christmas Carol' movie watchers? I watch it every year. I never ever tire of it.

Remember the Ghost of Christmas Past? She's usually pale, and floaty, and ethereal. Sometimes she's depicted as a child. I love the Ghost of Christmas Past!

"Who, and what are you?" Scrooge demanded.
"I am the Ghost of Christmas Past."

"Long Past?" inquired Scrooge, observant of its dwarfish stature.
"No. Your past."

This was my second choice photo; I had a hard time choosing. I can't tell you how much fun we had with this ~ my kiddo was such a trooper while I had her laying down with a scarf draped over her for nearly a half hour. And I kept telling her, 'Think serious thoughts!'

She's way into the whole notion of this fairytale series, we are full of ideas for future photos! And we've been busily enlisting our friends into participating with us, I can't wait to see how more of this project unfolds.

I hope wherever you are, and whatever you're doing ~ you are feeling at peace with the past, rather than haunted by it. Happiest of holidays to you, my friends!

  1. Fabulous. The top one is my favorite. I love how "into it" she is!!! And yes, I love A Christmas Carol! We watched the Alistair Sim version yesterday, we've watched the Mickey Mouse and Mr. Magoo animated versions recently, and of course, Bill Murray in Scrooged. And we listened to Jim Dale read the audio book! LOVE IT! :) Merry, merry Christmas!!!

    2. That is why we didn't watch the Muppet version this year. Empty box! And my copy of A Christmas Story is missing, too. No Ralphie!

A Christmas Carol is one of my all time favorite movie! I have yet to read the "real" book (well real because Mickey's version isn't the real thing innit?)

Looking forward to more fairy tales series pics!

    1. Oh I am full on obsessed with my fairy tale photo thing, I have a whole page of ideas, which I think I might have lost and now I have to go write it down again. The best is when I'm trying to explain it to my friends and get them to participate and they're like, what? :)

  6. Wow - I really like both of them, but I think I lean towards #2 as my favoritest favorite. Such a sweet and melancholy face.
