(a portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week in 2014)
Julia: inside her fortress of solitude with a buddy, playing heck knows what. She's the one on the left.
Does a picture like this count if there are technically two people in it? I have no idea how these things work.
As much as I dislike her Ikea Kura bed -- the times I've hit my head on the frame -- I can tell you if you like -- 9 out of 10 times I get near the thing, I hit my head. It's a percentage rate of something like 99.9% of the time, I hit my head on it. And yet....she loves it, she feels cozy in it, and we can do things like hang lights on it sometimes, or sheets. If I were a super crafter, I would do one of those cool things I've seen people do with this bed where they make little sliding curtains basically, that span the whole length of the bed. Or some folks have made it into sort of a castle looking affair.
'Frozen' mania has reached an all time high in our house. We got the CD soundtrack and Julia sings it 24 hours a day. That was super awesome for about 48 hours. She told me she loves 'Frozen' way more than she loved the 'Brave' movie. The other day, her friends were over, and Julia was 'auditioning' her friends by having them sing various songs and then helpfully writing down notes. It was all very positive. "Amazing! Great job!" Then each scene had to be performed....A LOT OF TIMES.
I think if my kiddo could have tied me to a chair and had me watch her for 8 hours straight...she would have done it.
