Cool Stuff I Like

January 3, 2014

Happy friday friends!!!! It feels like it's been ages since I did a Friday post. One missed week equals ages. This weekend we'll probably start taking down our Christmas trees, but I'm not too sad because we're going to cover the house with white paper snowflakes, and guess what, oh I'll tell you ~ Julia and I have already hit the Hello Kitty store and stocked up on our Happy Chinese New Year (I always refer it to it like that, the whole phrase, Happy Chinese New Year) paper envelopes, which we like to send out and also make into garlands. If you are hankering to know (are you hankering?), Happy Chinese New Year this year is on January 31.  Everything in the Hello Kitty store is crazy expensive, like $9 for a PEN?, but for some reason, the Happy Chinese New Year envelopes are crazy cheap, and you get a whole bunch for $3.

COOL STUFF to ring in the new year!

Absolutely loved this post. Could have been written about me, I'm telling ya.

Hot Ginger Toddy.

Do I have any fellow Capricorns out there? This is for you then!

Snowflake wax paper lanterns.

I've been pinning away on my Winterific Pinterest board. Go see!

A holiday dollhouse! The dolls can have Christmas in January, RIGHT?

Aura Cleansing Mists. (i can hear Andrew laughing already.....)

A holiday tea party.

This might be my birthday cake later this month.

This is the kind of stick tree we'll have going on in January......

Ikea Expedit now comes in high gloss pink. Just sayin'.

Cool Book of the Week: And while we're on the topic of Ikea, there's a new Ikea book! Ikea books are darling and have ultra charming illustrations. I was perusing the Ikea website the other day, you all do this right? And I saw this beauty of a new fairy tale. I can't wait to go to Ikea and check out 'The Princess and the Happiness' in person!

Have a lovely weekend! It's January! It doesn't feel like January to me, it still feels like December.

  3. Okay the title of the book sounds like something Little Sis would name one of her homemade books. "The Happiness." I totally want to read it. The witchy post was a hoot. Beautiful lanterns. I've already been drooling over the dollhouse. If we can get all our actual work done around the house, we might start looking into dollhouse construction. A place where all the Lotties, LPS animals and Blythes, Lalaloopsy minis, Olivia, Kai-Lan and Yo Gabba Gabba, and My Little Pony crap can play together. That chocolate cake looks delish. I love the Scandi stick tree and holiday tea party.

    Happy New Year again! xoxo

  4. I miss you Friday post too! It felt like a whole month since you blogged about it! You beat me to the CNY mention!!! Hahaha! I went to Chinatown on Jan. 1st and grabbed some red packets and envelopes! Everything is so festive right now for the CNY and it makes me less sad about taking down all the Chrismas decorations. That dollhouse! *swoon* I love it when people come up with great miniature ideas like that! Have a good weekend!

  5. Happy New Year! Both this one and the Chinese one! Firstly, I love love love your snow scene cushion. Secondly, how divine is that dinner party on the snowflake lantern post? So opulent yet sitting on cushions on the floor. Perfection.

    1. That cushion came from Crate & Barrel last year, and was a present from my mother. She cannot stop herself from going bonkers with Christmas deco. She never met a Christmas pillow that she didn't like! I like this one sitting on an all-white bed :)
