Cool Stuff I Like

February 7, 2014

Happy Friday friends!! Check out the awesome up above!!!! I finally got around to getting a frame for this fab Hello Kitty poster that we got as a gift-with-purchase at the Hello Kitty store last year. Or maybe they were selling them for $5-7 more with your purchase?? Can't remember what the special deal was, but omg is this poster awesome or what?? I've never seen one like this before!! I love the colors in it! I want it in my room!! I grabbed a super cheap, lightweight frame for it from Target, and when Julia saw it all framed and hung up in her room, she squealed. Delighted my heart, I tell you!

COOL STUFF this week (lots o' chocolate):

Ha ha ha ha!

A Valentine's Day lunch for kids.

How to photograph the moon.

10 Deconstructed Dinners.

Confetti Birthday Party.

DIY Valentine's Walnut Shell Sailing Boats. (SO darling)

How to make chocolate mochi!

Cocoa toast bread pudding!

This 'Grendel: A Cautionary Tale About Chocolate' book looks charming. (found via this list)

Chocolate rose tea.

There's a Paddington Bear collection from the Gap????

Hello Kitty baby dolls!!!

WOW. Spot on. (i just turned 44.)

Cool Book(s) of the Week: By far, Julia's favorite reading material lately has been the Geronimo Stilton book series, with special emphasis on the Thea Stilton books. She just can't get enough of them! Loads of fun illustrations on every page, interwoven with the text, which are fast paced adventure stories about daring mice from Mouseford Academy, who go on escapades involving thrill and peril, solving mysteries in a funny, light hearted way. That was a very very long sentence. Great for ages 7-10.

Seriously, Julia hasn't been hooked on a series like this since the Junie B. books! There are TONS of books in the series; she's been getting them from the library and from school, and she carts at least one of them wherever she goes.

Have a LOVELY weekend! Are you watching Olympics? We don't have cable for the first time during an Olympics season, so I'm trying to figure out what to do. Order cable for a month? See what I can glean online? Gah. #firstworldproblems.

    1. ha ha ha! yeah I'm SUPER DUPER OLD (but I talk and act like a toddler) -- when I was a teen, i was very unhappy with looking so young -- I was passing for under 12 years at the county fair when I was 16! and all of my friends were these glorious teen goddesses. Oh well. as far as now goes, well I've stayed out of the sun for the past 20 yrs and am rocking a huge Vitamin D deficiency! ;)

    2. Staying out of the sun is good because you don't get wrinkles, brown spots and you limit your risk of skin cancer! I have low Vitamin D so my doctor prescribed me some. You can easily take care of that too by eating more food with vitamin D and supplement with vitamins if required by doctors :D

  2. That Pinterest board is a scream. I am now following her blog. That Valentine's lunch idea is very sweet. I want to live in Gingerlilly Tea's world. Never heard of chocolate mochi, but now I wants. Want some chocolate rose tea, too. I almost want a baby again just to dress them in Paddington stuff. I'm still playing catch-up from yesterday, so I hadn't read Jane Cherie's awesome Hello Kitty post yet. Stuff has been added to wish lists now...
