Cool Stuff I Like

Uh oh. Someone, I won't mention any names (it was me!) had way, way, WAY too much fun getting this Friday's Cool Stuff photo ready for Valentine's Day. I loooooove Valentine's Day! So happy. So PINK. How do you like my Valentine's Snowy Forest of Pink Hearts? Is full of the awesome, yes?  (I love it when I manage to delight myself in this fashion, even if I'm the only one.) Anyway....Happy Valentine's Day!!! May your day be filled with hugs and chocolate. Andrew said that he loves me very much, but not $12.99 per rose stem worth of love. I don't even know why people mess around with flowers, when we all know this day is all about THE CHOCOLATE.

COOL STUFF to end your Valentine week:

Homemade Kit-Kat bars.

Oh em gee, yes to this whole post.

The Lunchbox Fund.

Silverlake Fairy School books. (how am I just finding these?)

A little icing party. So cute!

A very confused baby. (this also happened to Julia a bit 'cuz Andrew has an identical twin)

Nutella pudding.

Shaun White is awesome.

Cool Book of the Week: 'At The Same Moment Around the World' by Clotilde Perrin is the most breathtakingly beautiful book I've come across in many, many a day. I think this is going to be my go-to gift giving book for a loooooong time! The premise is fabulous -- what children all around the world are doing at the same time, even though the same time is actually different times in different time zones. So while one child might be having a snack, another one might be taking a nap. AND THE ART -- each page is like a painting you'd hang on the wall, I kid you not. Unbelievable.

Have a lovely weekend!!! Can we all agree that we are really really ready for spring??

  2. We love Shaun White too! (I am married to a redhead snowboarder, thats probably why), but he seems so NICE doesn't he? And like the look of that book too, great concept. We are watching the olympics during breakfast every day, quite a nice start because it is raining non stop and the winter drear factor is too high!

  3. Oh, what a beautiful book! I need to see this one. The Fairy School books look sweet, but I don't know if the girls would be into them. They seem to be outgrowing my whimsy. Sigh. I love Shaun White, too, although I admit to missing his wild hair. Nutella pudding sounds amazing. Love your lead photo! Happy Valentine's Day, dear friend! xxoo

  7. OMG this is SO pretty! You go girl!!! I can't stop staring at it.

This recipe reminds me of Michael Symon on The Chew. He recently made some homemade chocolate bars with Captain wafer crackers. http://abc.go.com/shows/the-chew/recipes/chocolate-caramel-crunch-bars-michael-symon

Nutella is like crack to me. :)

Happy Valentine's to you too! :)

    1. we are the same age!! wooo for middle aged ladeeeez!

i looooooove V day!! I think I may have mentioned that a few dozen times. One year before J was born, we had a Chocolate Party. It was awesome! We invited all of our friends, and I made choc fondue in a crock pot. Also, we drank a bottle of Cristal champagne my dad had given us as a wedding present. OMG Cristal. Wow. Probably the only time in my life I'll get to drink it. He would poop his pants if he knew I gave some of it my friends at a party. But it was a totally fun party, and someday I want to have kid choc party for J. Also her birthday is around this time, so basically the whole around-Valentine-time is very celebratory around here.

I know you wanted to know all that! :)
