(a portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week in 2014)

Julia: holding a lego in her hand ~ it's a little person she made that is supposed to resemble me, ha ha ha.

We saw the Lego movie a couple days ago, and Julia loved it. There were several humor lines involving "your butt", which honestly, I laughed the loudest at, because my humor is toddler humor, all the way.

There are plum and cherry blossoms everywhere now, but it rained rained rained this weekend, and I'm hoping there will still be blossoms left on the trees so that I can plop Julia in front of one of them and take some cherry blossomy pix. My poor kid. I was like, hey Julia guess what! (what.) On the first dry afternoon after school, Mama is going to drive you around to find cherry blossom trees low enough to the ground so that I can take your picture in front of it! Doesn't that sound awesome?? (okay.)

My mom in law made the bestest lunch over the weekend: potato leek soup with awesome cheese, and we brought the Irish soda bread, and we also had pears and apples, and then mint ice cream for dessert. Andrew and I have been having some really lackluster lunches lately. So this was way super fab. I need some serious lunch inspiration.

I would cheerfully ramble on some more for you, but my fingers are freezing while I'm typing this. I thought spring was well on it's way BUT IT FOOLED ME and now this week, it's only supposed to be high 40's, early 50's. I just need the rain to knock it off. I MUST GET MY CHERRY BLOSSOM PICTURES.

Oh em gee, Happy St. Patrick's Day! J had Lucky Charms for breakfast and got a new green headband with a giant poof on it. Whoa. You've never seen her headband collection. Headband post coming to a blog near you. Doesn't that sound FASCINATING?? You seriously will not believe how many headbands this kid has.

  1. Happy St. Patrick day to you! Your Lego Mini-Me story is adorable. It's funny how our kid sees us. The other day my son asked me how old I am and once I told him, he said "You are THAT old?" :D Well let's hope you'll have enough cherry blossoms for your photoshoot. It's been raining and super windy here so almost all the blossoms are now on the ground.

  5. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Totally love that visual of Julia somewhat less enthusiastic than you at the prospect of photos with cherry blossoms- and also totally jealous of the prospect of photos with cherry blossoms!

    1. oh yeah, i have officially spawned photographer's child syndrome -- she views the whole thing as a bore and chore half the time -- the other half of the time she wants to boss me around and tell me how to set up my shots. :)

  6. Oh, I laughed so much during the Lego Movie. I don't think I've laughed so loud at the movies for years. So yeah, apparently stuff that is supposed to be funny for kids ages 5-10 is what is funny to me. AND my kids recently made a Lego of me too! :D it looks quite a bit like yours!
