Cool Stuff I Like

Happy Friday!! At this exact moment, I am listening to a woodpecker drilling away at something up on my roof. I wonder if at some point this will be a problem?? Also, between our cats and Andrew's mousetraps, we have dispatched at least an entire family of mousies. Bye bye little mousies. And I'm thinking that any day, our bunny population will begin to appear anew. You'd think we're living in some place way out in the country, but no. We went into the city the other day, and Julia was looking around at all the people smoking and literally had her hand in front of her face to ward of yucky smoke. She told us that she thinks the city is 'shacky' and that she prefers to be where it's 'more suburby'. I think this girl would really love to be on a farm somewhere with chickens, dogs, goats, pigs.....or at least until she figured out how many chores that would involve.....

COOL STUFF this week:

You are going to FLIP OUT when you see this. The teeny tiny footprints!!!!!!!!!

What a cute fun living space ~ love the bookcase :)

And while we're on a cat theme, I wonder what Sally & Rosebud would think of a kitty tipi?

This post made me very happy! Be sure and watch the tiny video, so adorable!

Edwardian Easter Eggs. OH YES.

Sweet Paul spring issue.

Can you believe these photos? I mean, can you believe it??? I had no idea many of these things existed.

The healthiest tea on earth?

Really cute post about favorite toddler books.

Double chocolate pound cake.

Cool Book of the Week: 'How to Draw Manga Chibis & Cute Critters' by Samantha Whitten and Jeannie Lee. I figured....it's creative and CUTE and....I got it for J. Actually, on her own, she has always drawn in this sort of anime style and she recently saw some manga books at school, and has been trying to really learn about this style of drawing. According to Julia, a chibi is a type of manga (which is Japanese comic book style of drawing). "Chibi" is Japanese slang for small child or short person. Anyway, she's super into it all and I think she'll have a ton 'o fun with this.

Have a lovely weekend! I have been BAD about going to bed on time. I have officially turned into an old lady ~ my eyes start closing at exactly 10:15pm. This tells me that I need to be IN BED by 10, so I can read a bit until 10:30. I don't know why this schedule is so impossible to adhere to, I really don't. I can't even blame social media, because I found ways to goof off past my bedtime well before all of that. I used to think 11pm was the best time to re-arrange furniture. I'm here to tell you: It's HARD to be a night owl.

  3. Your Cool Stuff post is made of awesome. Seriously, it's like getting a favorite magazine issue every Friday and getting cozy in my chair to surf all the wonderful new things you mention. I ADORE that NY apartment and especially that huge world map with the Velcro attachment! If it wasn't for the price, I would buy it in a heartbeat! The tiny kitties and sweets are genius. And so adorable I wonder if I could eat them (yes I would because I love sweets but I'll be sad to see them go). And those amazing places O_O I would be a bit scared to venture there but it's truly amazing. I think the big block rock formation is the one mention in Disney movie UP? Have a wonderful weekend Melissa!

    2. My kids and nephews love the movie!!! They laugh so much too but the first time they saw it, they were scared of the ending. Now they got over it and they don't even blink an eye.

  4. Suburby!!! That's too funny. We live in a small city. Not the burbs, but not as big as Seattle. It works for me, but the girls and Mr. B daydream about moving to the country all the time. Okay, I don't think my cats would go easy on the cat tipi. I could see it getting trounced in a Lucy/Mabel chase. :) The Oh Joy post is very sweet, as well as the Oh Dear Drea book post. Love the Easter eggs. I want bookshelves like that. The kitty and pancake sweets are too much!!! I couldn't eat them!!! I'll have to keep this drawing book in mind, the next time Little Sis wants a how to draw manga book. I think it would especially appeal to her. Have a fabulous weekend, dahling!!! xoxoxo
