(a portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week in 2014)

Julia: chillin', readin', and hangin' in her roller skating hand pads/glove thingys and she thinks they look waaaaaaay cool and just wears them around the house now.
Not pictured: her awesome star clip, which she is wearing a lot because we have embarked upon the Very Daunting and Totally Terrifying process of growing out her bangs. I might go insane midway through it all and cut them off again. I'm way more invested in the process than she is.....

Took some pix of our SPRING STICK TREE, but I wasn't happy with them. To be honest, it's kind of a Charlie Brown-ish spring stick tree, meaning very waif-like and forlorn looking and kind of a stick tree only a mother could love. Oh well. They can't all be winners.

Off to hunt for something cheerful and Eastery in the book dept to photograph for you!

  1. Great picture. Love the streaks of sunlight. Big Sis wants to know what Julia is reading.

    1. chair was a present from grandma 2 yrs ago! -- it's like a stuffed animal you can sit on! my only complaint is that these chairs (from Pottery Barn Kids) are not very deep in the seat -- not sure how much longer she'll fit in it -- maybe we can flip it sideways or something.....:)

  3. Hey Melissa,

I'm tuning in to give you a big springtime hug. There's nothing more lovely than seeing your child immersed in a good book.

    1. and a BIG BIG BIG springtime hug right back at you Miss Stephanie! Golly gee I need that hug. (i would never say any phrase here that I wouldn't use in real life, and I am pretty certain that at some point, I've actually uttered the phrase 'golly gee').

anyway.....hurray for spring time, children reading, and happy thoughts! xo

Good luck with the bangs. It's awful growing them out. I recently grew mine out and it about drive me crazy.

    1. i seriously seriously think I might go bonkers just watching them grow out -- I already want to cut them. i think bangs might be the most torturing things in the universe. :)
