So there is this place an hour or so away from us in the Skagit Valley that has a ginormous tulip festival every year. We haven't been since Julia was 3 ~ so this year seemed like a good time to go. I saw ominous dark cloud after ominous dark cloud on the drive up there and screeched to Andrew the entire time - "It looks like raaaaaaiiiin! Doesn't it look like rain? Oh look at those clouds! We're driving INTO those dark, black clouds!"
But despite the clouds, it didn't rain. I consider this place a real life Land of Oz. ARE YOUR RETINAS BURNING FROM ALL THAT COLOR? I will tell you right now.....I did not touch the saturation or do anything to boost the color you're seeing in any way. Imagine fields and fields of nothing but neon bright color. That's what this place is. It's incredible.
We also bought some amazing fudge for my mom, because she loves fudge so much. And then Julia and I (mostly me) ate it all. She'll never know....
Are you freaking out over these tulips? I can't get over this place. How do they grow so many tulips???? Wizards and fairies were obviously involved.
That very first photo? I'm thinking of blowing that bad boy up and hanging it on my wall. If it blows up nicely, I'll offer it for sale as a print, if anyone wants a giant retina burning patch of tulips on their wall.....email me if you're interested!
