(a portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week in 2014)
Julia: all she wants to do is move, sing, jump, and run.
How is everyone's week going so far? I am trying to be a spring cleaner. Let me clue you in as to how that's going. Nothing has happened. Actually, I did clean some closet things and I folded laundry that had been in the basket for 3 weeks. Does that count as spring cleaning? I re-arranged my sofa pillows. Does that count as spring cleaning? We did do a lot of weeding in the garden last weekend, or let me phrase it this way....I took lots of pictures of my family working. I'll show you how hard they were working as soon as I can summon up the energy to download those photos.
Are you freaking out that school is going to be over soon? (i am, i am, i am......)

That's such a cool picture!!! Our house is a little bit cleaner now. Not enough, but... Our last day of school is one week from tomorrow. EEK!
ReplyDeleteone week!!!! i feel less prepared for summer than any summer previously. i have no idea why that is?
DeleteI'm planning to do Summer Cleaning this year, wherein I cleverly enlists my daughter's help in cleaning out all drawers and closets and deep cleaning the house. She loves to organize so I'm hoping she can help me stay motivated! Chances are, though, I'll simply throw my hands up in the air when I realize that it's all for nothing... All cleaning around here is quickly cancelled out by my two youngest pulling things out and leaving them everywhere. :)
ReplyDeletei honestly don't know why i clean anything at any time! even when I clean up my own closet, or my own messes, it just returns 2 days later. cleaning is the most self-defeating endeavor EVER.
DeleteI love love LOVE that picture! And I'm getting bogged down by the thought of spring cleaning- it's a major undertaking when even something so simple using hot water to mop is a process. As for school- as soon as it's over, we're packing up our '67 Shasta trailer for a road trip, so it can't come soon enough! So jealous of your gardening- it's been almost two whole days since I've woken up to snow.
ReplyDeleteSNOW??? SNOW?? (snow???)
DeleteAwwww she is so sweet. I love this picture. Truly.
ReplyDeletethank you my friend!!!! i wish her other hand had been as illuminated as the first one, but what can ya do?? #kidphotographyproblems :)
DeleteThat is such a beautiful photo, Melissa! I love how soothing and poetic it is.
ReplyDeletesweet Patricia! thank you thank you. I really appreciate that!
Deletemy spring cleaning is going an awful lot like yours… oh well. Terrific photo!
ReplyDeleteyou know, if we were perfectly on top of all this cleaning biz, there would be no GOAL to attain, AMIRIGHT?????
DeleteSpring cleaning can go as slow or fast as you want. And yes laundry does count to because it's cleaning, innit? :D Lovely photo! I think my girl is just like your Julia! She is a born dancer, jumper and overall DOER. I think I might just have to get her a dancing kid dvd so she can dance all her heart's content. Is summer vacation almost here? Oh dear I have not planned anything yet! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletehere's how summer's gonna go down if i don't get a bit more organized -- me, Julia, glaring at each other, while she tells me how totally bored she is. actually Vanessa from Silly Eagle Books has inspired me, she's been pinning all this cool Egyptian stuff, books, games etc -- i think we'll do a little mini summer home-school project!
