Everyday Should Be Pippi Day

May 8, 2014

(a portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week in 2014)

Last week, my Project 52 photo was from a day that Julia decided to dress up like Pippi Longstocking. But we had a lot more pix from that day, so this week's Project 52 photo is from that same day as last week's photo. As usual, I am mangling my weekly photo project by my inability to stay on track, but hey, who's judging these things? The big Project 52 fairy in the sky? I think not. So here are some of the pix we took when Julia decided to create her own Pippi attire.

Everyone should embrace a bit of inner Pippi, no? She's the original #strongisthenewpretty! She doesn't care if she matches. She doesn't care if she eats pancakes for dinner at midnight, or if her hair is combed just right. What she cares about is being a good friend, having fun, and standing up for what she believes. EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE READING PIPPI.

(have you noticed I get very judgmental about what you all should be reading??? but seriously, go read Pippi if you haven't already.)

  3. Yay for dressing up day! Pippi is a great role model for little girls. I think every kid should read the novel! Have you watched the movie? The old one, from Sweden! It's just made of awesome really. I tried showing my boy a year ago. No success. Maybe it's a girl thing?

  5. These are so precious. I love it. I've always loved Pippi and now you've rekindled in me a desire to dress up as Pippi some day for Halloween. Even if I get made fun of for being almost 40 and dressed as Pippi.

Your photography just gets better and better darling.
