Thought you might like a peek at our wildflower garden that we grew this year! Easiest way to garden EVER. We just sprinkled the little seeds all over our little garden plot. The packet said to sprinkle a small handful, so I took that to mean.....THE ENTIRE BAG.
When they were at their peak, it was really really lovely, I was super delighted with all of our posies! Then we had a few heavy rains and the flowers got pretty pummeled. They are now looking a wee bit bedraggled, but oh well.
These were from a bag labeled 'fairy mix' ~ I think next year I might try and see if I can find a bag called 'English Cutting Garden', if there is such a thing. My mom in law says that some of these might come back next year, but I kinda want to DUMP ANOTHER BAG on the ground, hee.
Your wildflowers garden turned out so good! I didn't know it could be that easy to grow flowers. I always think it takes much time and efforts, and trimming and nurturing. You really make me want to grow it myself!
ReplyDeletethis was the easiest thing I've ever done in my garden and it yielded the best results!
DeleteIt's lovely! Seeing the California poppies made me smile... we used to grow those in our front yard when I was a kid. My folks even had us harvest the seeds after the petals fell off. If I remember correctly, they'll be in a long stem-thingy where the flower head used to be. You peel it open and the tiny black seeds fall out! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLOVE the poppies! they're my favs. doh, totally forgot that poppy seeds come from POPPIES.......
DeleteBeautiful! I'm thinking of doing that with sunflower seeds next year, but I do love the whole wildflower vibe, too. :)
ReplyDeletei'm telling you, i'm hooked now! dump and grow!
DeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeletethank you thank you! we've definitely loved having our wildflowerys :)
DeleteOMG I love love love love love it. You go girl. It looks amazing. We did this once and it was way fun. Note to self: get the fairy mix.
ReplyDeleteseriously, I can't believe how awesome it turned out. i was worried at first b/c only one variety of flower was growing for the longest time! but then the others began creeping in. the easiest and the best garden project ever!
DeleteI am so jealous of this, I think I remember when you planted the seeds too. I really need to do something similar, the flowers are just incredible.
ReplyDeleteyeah I got a late start on the seeds! and they still turned out awesome~
DeleteSo pretty and you can't beat the ease of dumping a bag on the ground & watching it grow!!!
ReplyDeleteDump and grow! it's the only way i want to garden. :)
DeleteOh my gosh, these are soo soo pretty! By any chance, did you buy your seeds from Botanical Interests? I bought a bunch of different packets from them (that I had to save for next year) and I have one called Fairy Meadow. I am all about just throwing some seeds down and watering if the turn out like yours! :)
ReplyDelete*cough* the fairies actually brought us these seeds, but yes indeed, the package cover said they came from Botanical Interests! ;)
