cool stuff i like

Happy Friday! My mother has the most amazing fading pinkish hydrangeas at her house and I forgot to pick a bouquet to take home with me. I'm devastated. Andrew and I have big epic battles about hydrangeas. I love them and want to plant them everywhere because they are so low maintenance, high reward. He thinks they are dull and pedestrian. ??! Why????? I have some in my yard that have this faded look, but not nearly as many as my mother, and mine are blueish, not this lovely pink. And that's my Floral Report of the day.

Let's look at internet goodies:

DIY Recycled Cereal Box Illuminated Haunted Houses.

This book all about cozy winter decor ~ Wish list.

Roasted apple and ginger scones.

Violet tea.

What to wear to elementary school.

And speaking of clothes, just scored these disco ball leggings for J 25% off plus free shipping! Code LOVEFALL.

Homemade Milano cookies.

10 beautiful flower arrangements for fall.

Adorable kiwi pencil sharpener.

Fika!

Cool Book of the Week: 'Origami Playhouse' from Chronicle Books. You fold, play, and display! Look at it! Isn't it too wonderful? My kiddo is really into origami. I'm really into dollhouses. I think she should make this for me so I can play with it! This would make the most charming and unique gift for a birthday. The reviews say that it's best for kids 9 and up.

Have a lovely weekend! We just got a little beta fish, to go with our two cats and Nomi-the-puppy. The fish is a boy and is named Thaddeus Pierre. Discuss.

  2. Those milanos are gorgeous, aren't they? Plus, the post has Sylvia Plath in it and I was totally impressed with that one.

    1. I LOVE how she put in bits of texts from awesome writings in her food posts! That is one cookbook I'll be buying the hot minute it hits the bookstores :)

  3. Andrew is WRONG! I love my hydrangeas and just got home from buying two more. Love, love, love them! I read the most romantic label on one that said it was tolerate of salt air & full sun - all I could envision was a little shingled cottage by the beach surrounded in hydrangeas. Be still my heart! Nothing pedestrian about that!

    1. ME TOO!!!!! I really just adore them! I lost a plant this year, it never did well and this year it just died - and I want to plug the hole with another hydrangea!

  4. Those hydrangeas are beautiful. I wish I had a spot to plant some myself. Someday...

That book looks great. The milano recipe sounds so cool. I bought a package of dark chocolate orange Milanos the other day - yum. Those haunted houses are awesome! I wish I had the time and patience, but I'm short on both these days.

So I haven't checked - are you following Socality Barbie on Instagram yet? The best thing on Instagram ever. ( https://instagram.com/socalitybarbie/ )

    1. DARK ORANGE Milanos! I know what I'm getting next time at the store.

I am also short of time and patience. the other day I wrote out my fall To-Do list. I feel very daunted by it, but I think having it in list form, with the ability to slowly check things off will be a good thing.

OMG YES about the Barbie, Andrew showed me the other day and we laughed and laughed - I was going to put it on the list and then figured everyone had already seen it, ha - did you see how every post had a Pacific Northwest hashtag? HA HA HA. #liveauthentic yo.
