cool stuff i like

Happy Friday my holiday loving friends! Well pickle. This week got away from me! It took longer than I thought to get some decent photos of my advent calendar. Why am I fussing so much over this advent calendar, when it's too late to deal with advent-y stuff for this year? PLANNING, my lovelies. So you can see it and love it maybe, (like I did), and get yourself all ready for trying to track it down, (like I did), for next year! We'll chat more about this magical advent calendar on Monday. Like for real - the post is done and scheduled!

Holiday cheer this week and heck knows it seems like we all need some of it, yes?

This girl. May all the love in the universe fly out to her forever.

Winter Solstice Tea.

Oh my word, this puzzle is gorgeous.

I don't know how to pronounce whatever this is, but I want to eat it.

The best board games you've probably never played before.

Gingerbread shortcake.

I can't wait! The first 'The BFG' trailer! Julia and I love this story SO much.

Everything about this post, especially the words, is so beautiful I just can't even.

I'll do a post on it later because I HAVE IT (thank you Mom for the early present), and I've looked through it, but if you're wondering if the new illustrated hardcover Harry Potter is awesome or worth it or should-you-because-you-already-have-a-different-copy, the answer is OMG YES, get it, get it as a gift for the Harry Potter fan in your life (or yourself) because it's FANFLIPPINGTASTIC.

Have you all seen this? Thanks to my dear friend Laura for sending to me! The best books of 2015.

Another fab gift guide list.

Cool Book of the Week: 'Papa's Latkes' by Jane Breskin Zalben is the sweetest book for tiny tots and the preschool/kinder set about a family of adorable bears who are all attempting to create The Perfect Latke, after Mama decides she's a bit tired of making them. The kiddos begin their latke-making competition, with decidedly mixed results. Finally, Papa adds his contribution and comes up with the perfect latke. (I love this. Why should Mama have to do it all???) I read the whole thing at my library and was super enchanted with it! The bears are just precious, and it's a darling, simple take on the Hanukkah latke making tradition.

Have a LOVELY weekend! So in my house, deco is pretty much all squared away. What's missing now from the holiday schedule is wrapping paper (I haven't wrapped a single thing) and COOKIES. Happy anniversary this weekend to my beloved Andrew, who keeps me going, and whose unflagging patience and humor are some of the biggest blessings in my life.
