birthday cake post and my 'Tall Book of Nursery Tales' post, you really should go back and take a peek. And be sure to go check out this week's 5 Hours 'til Bedtime - some really gloriously darling photos up this time around. Oh how I adore this project!
Hope you all enjoy the stuff I found this week:
I am so excited to see this cookbook.
This birthday present was a HUGE hit with my daughter. (see above photos)
Great nonfiction books for kids.
I've been hearing glowing things about this.
Mother-daughter activities on Pinterest. Guess who looked this up - my sweet daughter! She was playing with my phone the other day and instead of playing a game, she went onto Pinterest and had typed in this search term and then showed it to me.
Totally amazed by this concept.
And this one - you can learn singing techniques from Christine Aguilera.
I sense an obsession coming on - this book is next on my To Read list - because of this article (it's long, go make tea) and this one.
I got this American Girl card making kit for J last year and it's AWESOME. You can make sooooo many kinds of cards with it!
Navigating adolescence - thank you Allison for putting this on my radar.
Cool Book of the Week: 'Garth Williams, American Illustrator: A Life' by Elizabeth K. Wallace and James D. Wallace is coming out this spring, and I dearly would love to see it. The art of Garth Williams has been such an important facet of my most beloved books, and his work really speaks directly to my soul. He's my favorite favorite favorite children's book illustrator, and I'm so excited to read more about his life. Normally I would not really be into this kind of biography, but this one I can't wait to see. It's the first time a complete biography about him has been written in cooperation with his family. I think there are few others in the world of kid lit who can rival the contribution he's made to the field.....
'The Revenant' just for the cinematography, because it was filmed in only naturally available light. Andrew's favorite movie last year was 'Mad Max: Fury Road'. At some point, I really also want to see 'Brooklyn' and 'The Danish Girl'......
